Make the frozen serve
- Pour cider into ice-cube trays. Kopparberg uses Strawberry & Lime and Mixed Fruit in the film. Keep the flavours separate if you want to offer both.
- Allow time to freeze. The film specifies five hours or more. Prepare ahead and check that the cider has frozen before blending.
- Blend into a slushie. Remove the frozen cider from the trays, put it into a blender suitable for ice and blend to the crushed-ice texture shown.
- Pour and garnish. Divide between glasses and finish with raspberries or strawberries, as shown in the film. Serve straight away, with a reusable straw if desired.
What to have ready
You need Kopparberg cider, ice-cube trays, a freezer, a blender suitable for ice, serving glasses and fruit for the garnish. This is a cider-based frozen serve; the film does not add any spirits.
From a trial glass to terrace service
For a terrace or hotel bar, the preparation starts before service. Make a trial batch with your chosen flavour and glass first. This lets you establish how much cider you need per serving and how much freezer space the trays will take up.
Kopparberg does not specify exact quantities or a serving yield in this film. Once you have tried the serve, record your own portion and method. That gives staff a consistent result to work towards and means the preparation is settled before a busy service.
